229,000 Still in Temporary Housing

Many survivors of the March 11 earthquake are struggling to move on. More than 220,000 of them are still living in temporary housing.

Officials at the Reconstruction Agency say the number has dropped by 35,000 since last March.

But they say many evacuees all over the country are still living in temporary homes or with relatives. Officials had prepared more than 53,000 housing units for displaced people. And 99 percent of them are still in use.
