Consultations about housing and money in Kaga City, Ishikawa

A group of lawyers, judicial scriveners, and prefectural government representatives held a free consultation session on March 2 at a hotel in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture, which served as an evacuation center after the Noto Peninsula earthquake. They offered advice on housing damage and financial issues arising from the earthquake.

The venue was in a hot spring resort where about 150 evacuees from quake-affected areas such as Wajima and Suzu now reside. Nine experts were available for consultation sessions.

A woman in her 80s who lives in a rented house asked if she needed a disaster victim certificate. A lawyer explained that even tenants of rented properties require one to access subsidies and other support services.

Judicial scrivener Miyanaka Kazuhiko said, "I try to give positive advice to disaster victims. We have a team of specialists, so please come and consult with us no matter what you need."

The next consultation session is scheduled for March 9 at a ryokan in Katayamazu Onsen.
