Quake-hit Ishikawa to subsidize home repairs and purchases

Ishikawa Prefecture says it will subsidize up to 3 million yen in interest on loans for home repairs or new home purchases by households affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake.

The prefectural authority says the financial assistance is available to people who suffered partial or total damage to their homes. To be eligible, households must either include children under the age of 23, or have a combined annual income of 6 million yen or less.

Separately, the central government also plans to subsidize up to 3 million yen in home rebuilding costs for households with elderly or disabled persons.

Ishikawa Governor Hase Hiroshi said, "The central government and the prefecture will work together to support victims of this disaster."
