Acceptance of applications for temporary housing begins

Following the powerful earthquake that hit central Japan on New Year's Day, authorities have started accepting applications for temporary housing in quake-hit municipalities and other areas.

'Deemed temporary housing'

As of January 11, a total of 27 municipalities in the prefectures of Ishikawa and Toyama have started accepting applications for "deemed temporary housing" provided by the local government, which rents private rental housing. For more details, call the following numbers:

Some municipalities take longer to provide public housing than others.
