Marina Shirakawa is a correspondent in Japan who has been following a broad range of social issues in the country, including education and children's rights. She has also covered the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and reported on crime and accidents. After the Great East Japan Earthquake, her extensive interviews with evacuees of the Fukushima Nuclear Accident revealed that many face discrimination and prejudice. Marina is currently based in Tokyo and is interested in international human rights issues.
