This episode of HAIKU MASTERS takes place in Kanazawa, a city with a rich history still maintained today, located in Ishikawa Prefecture along the Sea of Japan. Artisanal goods are also highly valued in this area which is one of the reasons why it is famous as a producer of 90% of Japan's gold flakes. During our visit, we stop by a gold flakes workshop found in the old town of Higashichaya. Here, we learn about the history behind the beautiful gold flakes while discussing works sent in from haiku poets around the world. Our guest is Kanazawa-born actor Misato Tanaka.
