Sirloin Steak Marinated in Miso
- Ingredients (Serves 4)
- "Miso" bean paste marinade
*400g/ 14oz "Miso" bean paste
*1/2 cup (100ml) sake
*1 cup/ 200ml "Mirin" sweet cooking sake
*50g/ 2oz sugar
*4 sirloin beefsteaks (2cm thick)
*8 tbsp "Miso" bean paste marinade
1 Combine ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
2 Keep stirring over low heat to avoid burning for about 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
3 Keep marinade in a container for up to 3 weeks in the fridge.
Sirloin steak preparation
1 Spread marinade on both sides of steaks (2 tablespoons for each side of steak) and cover with plastic wrap. Let the meat stand in a fridge for half a day or overnight.
2 Remove marinade from the steaks using a spatula or paper towel. Preheat a grill and brown both sides. The steaks can also be pan fried or oven-broiled.
