Fried Chicken with Grated Daikon
- Ingredients (Serves 4)
- *2 boneless chicken thighs with skin
*2 tsp soy sauce
*1 tbsp sake
< Sauce >
*1 cup / 200 ml dashi stock
*6 tbsp soy sauce
*4 tbsp mirin sweet cooking sake
*2 tbsp sugar
*shichimi seven spice chili pepper
1 Pour the dashi stock, vinegar, soy sauce, sugar and mirin in a pan, and mix.
2 Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces.
3 Add the soy sauce and sake, and mix it into the chicken with your hands.
4 Cover the chicken evenly with the starch, and deep-fry it at a temperature of between 180 to 200 degrees Celsius.
5 Pour the warm sauce over the chicken, add the Daikon-Oroshi (grated daikon).
6 Sprinkle some shichimito make it more spicy.
