Kumo no Ito Azusa no Yumihari (The Dance of the Earth Spider): This program looks at henge buyo (transformation dances) which are dances where one actor plays several roles. Sometimes these dances are a series of separate dances, but the program focuses on "The Dance of the Earth Spider," which is a dramatic story. The spirit of the Earth Spider attacks the demon quelling general Yorimitsu by disguising itself in a variety of forms: a samurai page, a comic entertainer, a blind musician and a courtesan. One actor plays all these roles with a series of spectacular fast changes.
