Acting with a Disability
Actor Fujiwara Momona has been a wheelchair user since childhood. In a society that tends to limit how people with disabilities live their lives, what world does this budding actor hope to build?
Fujiwara Momona is a university student passionate about acting. Due to a condition that causes her muscles to gradually weaken, she needs to use a respirator.
Momona appeared in a short TV drama that aired this February. Featuring two leads with disabilities, the story depicted the inequalities people like them face in society.
Together with fellow actor Ota Akito, who also has a disability, Momona is writing an original story that attempts to create a new way to portray disabled people.
