This piece is based on a memory Kato has from childhood, when he returned home with muddy socks. He draws in a style where an afterimage remains, expressing his vague memories.
This piece is based on a memory of the day Kato's pet dog died. By using face and body parts that look like papercut art, and purposely moving the parts awkwardly, he is able to express the unbearable memories.
WATER IN THE CUP
Here, Kato expresses life and death repeated in the cycle of rebirth. By focusing on the materials he used, and layering thin lines drawn by color pencils, he's able to give birth to an animation with a unique movement.
