Taketo Shinkai creates animated sketch comedies featuring rapid-fire dialogue, minimal movement, and a distinctive pop visual style. The many shorts he has produced for TV have found a large audience, particularly among teenagers.
Born in 1982. Following a stint in Panasonic's creative division, Shinkai left to become a freelancer. He eventually started his own company, Pie in the Sky, in 2013.

This animated sketch comedy show revolves around a boy who dreams of becoming a rock star, and his bandmates. The show was broadcast weekly from July to December 2016 on TOKYO MX.
While in college, Shinkai independently produced this animated short, which features a lot of the stylistic techniques he uses today. Using a minimal amount of movement and an unchanging background, Shinkai depicts a dream occurring within a dream that is itself occurring inside a dream.
At an elementary school for children infatuated with classic fairy tales, a group of kids get into all kinds of crazy misadventures. The show is broadcast weekly on NHK-E as a segment on Bitworld.
