This is the third installment of a series featuring biographies of great historical figures in Japan. Eiichi Shibusawa was a business leader who became known as "the father of Japanese capitalism" for his achievements from the late 19th to early 20th century. His image will be printed on the new 10,000-yen bill. Shibusawa saw his life dramatically change as a result of the Meiji Restoration, a tumultuous political and cultural revolution that took place when he was in his 20s. The program describes his way of life and his wish to contribute to society despite life-changing experiences.
