Today's story is set in Watakano -- a tiny island just off the Pacific coast of Shima City, Mie Prefecture, central Japan. It used to be known for its many bars and nightspots before its economy declined. A young man arrived on the island after a setback in his life in a big city. His job is to help revive the island as part of local revitalization efforts. The young man and the islanders, all trying to get their lives back on track.
