TRAINEE DOCTORS GO ON STRIKE

Some 10,000 trainee doctors in South Korea have reportedly submitted their resignations, and most aren’t turning up for work. Operations are being postponed while hospitals are being partially shut down. The trainees are protesting the government’s plan to increase the number of medical students by 60 percent from next year. We spoke with Professor Soonman Kwon. He’s an expert in Health Economics and Policy at Seoul National University.
