People who have experienced bullying share their stories in each 30-minute "FACES" special. "FACES" is an international collaboration involving NHK and broadcasters all over the world.
Tokunaga Ryubi (age 27) is studying to be a tax accountant at graduate school. Earlier in life, he suffered from bullying and poverty. He lacked the education, warm meals, and family support available to other children. After leaving home at the end of middle school, Ryubi worked as a laborer and lived on his own. One day, he decided to throw himself at the academics he had abandoned. Why did he turn to education for help?
