a totally transformative makeup look.

But I dislike the term "men’s makeup."

I don’t like how it sounds like it’s just
subcategory of "women’s makeup."

Makeup is meant for anyone.

If the term "men’s makeup" becomes popular,
we will forever be split into categories.

We get to discover or individuality through doing
makeup. That’s why I keep making videos.

- Is it all self-taught?

Yes, it is.I’ve been watching beauty
videos online since I was young.

Back then, I had insecurities about my face.
So, I learned makeup by watching videos.

Suddenly, I had a fire in my eyes.

From then on, I was obsessed with makeup.

Let’s draw the eyebrows, starting from the inside.

When I was 18, I got bald patches from stress.

Then, I was bullied, which made it
even worse, and more hair fell out.

I had a skill in tracing, so I learned to
"redraw" the eyebrows I wanted with pencils.

I practiced drawing each strand of hair with
eyeliner, training in my own technique.

In 2019, Gyutae(24) went public
about his battle with alopecia.

Every time I upload a makeup tutorial, I get comments from people asking
why I don’t have eyebrows.

I’ve gotten tons and tons of comments like this.

I was disappointed that I was being noticed
more for that, and not for my skills.

I’m training so hard, so please, focus
on my makeup designs!

It’s about 4 a.m., and I was about to sleep, but I saw
a comment on my channel that I couldn’t let go.

It said, "You’re just selling
your sickness for attention."

The truth is that when I lost my hair,
my eyebrows, my eyelashes, all of it...

I struggled so much.

It was the hardest time of my life.

But I faced my emotions over and over,
despite all that had happened to me.

I’m just sharing that I used wigs
and makeup to gain confidence, and that anyone’s life can change for the better, too.

It hurts that my intentions are still misunderstood.

Gyutae, I respect you so much. For your make up, and your way of thinking and living.

I also suffer from alopecia. I love dressing up but
felt my style would be too limited compared to "normal" people. But through your channel,
I have realized how important it is to love myself.
