Kids from Mishima in Kagoshima Prefecture and Guinea in West Africa are connected by the djembe, a traditional drum. The djembe was introduced to Mishima 25 years ago during a visit by world-famous Guinean drummer Mamady Keita. The Japanese kids send a video introducing their island to their new friends. They feature notable spots and industries, and even film their drumming practice. The Guinean kids respond with their own video. They showcase their hometown and share djembe drumming tips.
