Koshigaya City in Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo. More than 500 Nigerian nationals currently live in the area. One of them, Chris Andrews, runs a small shop there that caters to the Nigerian community. We follow Chris in his struggle to keep his business afloat. (This program was broadcast on January 12 2021.)

photo Chris Andrews was born in Nigeria in 1969. At the age of 27, he came to Japan. photo On the second floor of a building is a church where a group of Nigerians are holding a Sunday mass. Many of the Nigerians here work at factories and on construction sites within Saitama Prefecture. photo It’s been 25 years since Chris left Nigeria. He has been supported by his Japanese friends. Amidst all the hardship, his love for Japan is growing stronger than ever.
