BOJ Grapples with Bond-Market Distortion

The Bank of Japan holds its monetary policy meeting on January 17-18. The central bank has been trying to stimulate the economy by keeping interest rates ultra-low. However, rising rates elsewhere in the world are making that extremely difficult. NHK World's Yanaka Marie speaks to experts Fukumoto Yuuki of NLI Research Institute, and Morita Chotaro of SMBC Nikko Securities, who say the BOJ is at a crossroads.
