Kyoto temple opens to public as ephemeral flowers bloom

In the garden of Torinin Temple in Kyoto City, there are 10 trees with Japanese stewartia or "summer camellia" flowers that bloom before dawn and drop by nightfall. Every year, the temple opens its garden to the public to coincide with the blossoms. The fallen white flowers decorating the moss are also a popular sight. The garden will be open until June 23.
