Spot-bill ducklings draw an audience
The arrival of eight spot-billed ducklings, or karugamo, at a shrine in Katsuragi City, Nara Prefecture, is bringing in the crowds. Every spring, ducks nest by the shrine's moat, with their eggs hatching a few weeks later. A shrine official says the ducklings spend about a week in the moat before moving to a nearby river.
