Weeping sakura erupt at Heian Jingu Shrine
The Heian Jingu Shrine in Kyoto City is home to about 250 cherry trees. The double-flowered weeping variety are now in full bloom. The area was previously home to a villa of the once-powerful Fujiwara clan, and has been a famous site for cherry blossom viewing since ancient times.
