Aizu Painted Candle festival lights up Fukushima

About 10,000 candles decorated with flowers and other motifs bring a sparkle to Aizuwakamatsu City as part of a winter event. The candles have long been crafted in this part of Fukushima Prefecture, known as Aizu, a legacy that is carried on by five local artisans who continue to turn out the traditional illuminations.
