Frozen lake offers dazzling views

Nestled amidst dense forests, Lake Onneto unveils its most spectacular view for just fleeting moments in December and January when the lake lies ensconced in ice and just before the first snow descends.

At night, temperatures plummet below -15 degrees Celsius and the lake freezes completely. As dawn breaks, the frozen expanse radiates an ethereal emerald hue as the light dances on its crystalized surface. And viewers can see a phenomenon called frost flowers, which comes when water vapor is cooled rapidly and turned to crystals.
