Sea mist in Miyazaki

The winter phenomenon of kearashi, in which mist rises from the surface of the sea, was recently observed at Tonoura Port in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture. It occurs on the coldest days of winter. The phenomenon is caused by the temperature difference of cold air flowing from land meeting the warm air over water.
