Matsumoto Castle rings in the new year

Kadomatsu decorations have been put up around Matsumoto Castle, a designated national treasure in Nagano Prefecture. The traditional bamboo displays are typically installed around entrances so the god of the New Year will feel welcomed and bring good fortune.
