Monkey bathing in Hokkaido

The Tropical Botanical Garden in Hakodate City has prepared a hot spring exclusively for 40 Japanese macaques, as temperatures dropped below minus 5 degrees Celsius. Hokkaido originally had no wild monkeys, with the animals' natural habitat limited to the Shimokita Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture on the northern part of Honshu. The garden's macaques can enjoy the hot springs until early May next year.
