Fukuroda Falls: A tapestry of autumn hues

The area around Fukuroda Falls in Daigo Town, northern Ibaraki Prefecture, is ablaze with autumn colors. The 120-meter-high and 73-meter-wide waterfall is considered one of Japan's three most beautiful waterfalls. The water undergoes a transformation as it cascades down the stepped falls, with its appearance alternating between smooth and violent. The falls are celebrated for their vibrant greenery in spring and the breathtaking display of autumn leaves. In winter, the falls take on a different allure, often cloaked in ice during prolonged cold days.
