"Kaminari" means "thunder" in Japanese, and the 30-meter-high Kaminari-daki waterfall in Takayama, Nagano Prefecture, more than lives up to its name. This natural wonder looks and sounds spectacular all year round. You can even experience it from behind. The autumn foliage in the nearby canyon offers a different view — but equally spectacular.
