Gujo Odori festival back in full

Japan's longest dance festival, the month-long Gujo Odori in Gujo City, Gifu, is back to full strength for the first time since the start of the pandemic. For this year's event, organizers have dropped the anti-Covid restrictions they put in place for the festival's return last year. The dancing takes place on weekends and some weekdays from mid-July to September 9th. From August 13th to 16th, participants can dance all night. The summer tradition was registered as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2022.
