Morning delight, Yamaguchi

Early mornings throughout July, hundreds of lotus flowers bloom in the mountains of Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The sacred flowers flourish in an 8,000 square-meter pond at Tougyouan temple, which began planting them 10 years ago for the pleasure of visitors.
