Half a century of ephemeral beauty in Yamanashi

The water lilies on the pond behind the main hall of Keirinji Temple in Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture, reportedly date back to about 50 years ago when a parishioner donated two of them to the temple.
The flowers are in full color until mid-June. Since they start to open in the morning and close in the evening, the best time to see them is in the early afternoon.
