Hydrangeas bloom early in Kyoto

The 7,000-square-meter hydrangea garden at Mimurotoji Temple in Uji City, Kyoto, exploded in color a week earlier than usual this year, a result of high early-spring temperatures. The so-called "flower temple" features 20,000 plants of about 50 varieties. The flowers are expected to peak in mid-June.
