Revelers descend on Tokyo's Asakusa neighborhood for Sanja Matsuri festival

Crowds packed into the streets of Tokyo's Asakusa district from May 19 to 21 for the Sanja Matsuri festival, an annual summer event famous for a procession of three mikoshi portable shrines belonging to the Asakusa Shrine. The procession returned this year for the first time since the start of the pandemic.
