Weeping cherry rings in spring
This spectacular weeping cherry in Tokyo has blossomed about 10 days earlier than last year. Believed to be aged more than 70, the tree measures some 15 meters high and 20 meters wide. With its branches hanging majestically like a bell, it draws visitors from Japan and abroad. It can be viewed at the Rikugien Garden, normally open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with special extended hours and illumination until 9 p.m. from March 23 to 29.
