Squirrels prepare for winter
"Ezo-risu" are giant squirrels native to Hokkaido. Since squirrels don't hibernate, they habitually bury nuts such as walnuts and acorns to store them in preparation for the the food-scarce winter months. This was the scene at Kaguraoka Park in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, in November 2022.
