Fall colors engulf Hokkaido mountain range

Sounkyo is a range of gorges in Daisetsuzan National Park, located in central Hokkaido. The trees begin to change color at the end of September, with hues of brilliant red and yellow gradually engulfing the mountainside. In some years, the first snowfall comes soon after.
