Golden fog on the lake

Lake Chuzenji in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, is a place of natural beauty, where the morning fog creates a fantastic scenery known as "Kearashi." The phenomenon occurs when cold air from the land moves to the sea and rivers, cooling the water vapor on the surface and creating an extreme temperature difference between the land and the sea. It is more likely to happen when the temperature on land is lower than the water temperature. As the morning sun rises, the haze glows with an orange hue, creating a divine atmosphere at an altitude of 1,400 meters.
