Sun turns silver into gold in Akita

Mt. Kanpuzan on the Oga Peninsula in Akita Prefecture glistens each September when the pampas grass blooms from the halfway mark right to the summit. Mt. Kanpu is also a favorite spot to watch the sun set over the Japan Sea. The orange light of the setting sun turns the silver grass gold.
