A million sunflowers in bloom
Mannou, a town at the foot of the mountains in western Japan's Kagawa Prefecture, is on a mission to brand itself as a "sunflower village." Residents have been gradually taking over deserted fields and using them to plant and cultivate the flowers. There are now 1 million across the town.
