Lavender garden overlooking the big city in full bloom

The Horomi Pass tourist farm in Sapporo City, Hokkaido, boasts a stunning display of 8,000 lavender plants every summer. The farm began with just 120 lavender plants in 1987, but has grown to become a major destination for both tourists and locals. Visitors can take in the vibrant purple carpet of flowers, while also enjoying the cityscape of Sapporo, a city that's home to around 2 million people. It's a must-visit spot to experience the refreshing Hokkaido summer.
