Flower bloom in the summer of the highlands

Nestled at 1,100 meters above sea level on the hillside of Mount Bandai in Fukushima Prefecture, Oguninuma Wetland is a botanical treasure trove known as the "Flower Garden in the Sky." The best time to visit is from late June to early July when a type of orange lily is in color. Though Alpine plants have been declining in number nationwide as a result of deer grazing, the marshland on Mount Bandai is filled with blooming flowers.
