"Flower Tunnel" returns to Fukushima after 12 years
The "Flower Tunnel" in the Yonomori district of Tomioka Town, Fukushima Prefecture, is a picturesque 2.2 kilometer row of cherry blossom trees. In 2022, after a 12-year hiatus due to the nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, visitors were once again able to admire the cherry blossoms up close when authorities eased the access restrictions.
