Futon stuck in overhead wire halts trains at JR Asagaya Station in Tokyo

A train driver spotted a futon caught in an overhead wire at JR Asagaya Station in Suginami Ward in Tokyo on Thursday.

Local train services on the JR Chuo and Sobu lines were partially suspended and removal work was carried out. East Japan Railway Company says the futon was about 1.8 meters long and 1 meter wide. The train resumed operation about 30 minutes later, affecting about 5,000 passengers.

The Meteorological Agency says a cold air mass flowing into the skies over the Kanto region made atmospheric conditions very unstable and caused strong winds.
