Noto quake survivors eligible for free reissued driver's licenses

The Ishikawa Prefectural Police have set up temporary windows to reissue driver's licenses free of charge to survivors of the Noto Peninsula earthquake who lost theirs in the disaster that struck central Japan on New Year's Day.

Survivors are eligible for reissuance without bringing the usually required proof of identity. The reissuance will take about one week, expediting the process that normally takes several weeks.

Temporary re-issuance windows will open at the following locations:

Mondays: Suzu and Nanao police stations
Tuesdays: Wajima and Hakui police stations
Thursdays: Suzu police station's Noto building
Fridays: Wajima police station's Anamizu building
