Kohno Kenji is a veteran correspondent who has worked in Washington, Los Angeles and Tehran over a period of 17 years. As Washington Bureau Chief, he was the first among Asian media to interview US President Barack Obama. He previously served as anchor on NHK's prime time TV news program, "News Watch 9." He enjoys running in Central Park on weekends.
