Since joining NHK in 2017, Otemori has reported on local economic and business affairs in Gifu and Okinawa prefectures. She's currently in charge of covering security issues involving the US military in the Asia-Pacific, and often reports on developments at US bases in in Okinawa, in Japan's far south.
