Oishi Rie is currently posted to NHK's Hiroshima bureau for the second time. A native of the city, she has covered stories about World War II and the atomic bombing of her hometown throughout her career. She previously worked at the Matsue bureau and the Network and Digital News Division in Tokyo. She joined NHK in 2004.
