On track for beautiful blossoms

Noto-Kashima Station in Ishikawa Prefecture is so rich in cherry blossoms, known as sakura in Japanese, it is also called Noto-Sakura Station. The trees were planted in 1932 to celebrate the opening of the Noto Railway line. The number of trees has gradually increased to reach more than 100. The rail line was severely damaged by the Noto Peninsula earthquake on New Year's Day, but operations resumed on April 6th.
